Premier’s Visit

Today at work, we got a visit from Premier Shawn Graham. I’m not exactly sure why he was there, but he was taking a tour of our office and shaking hands and introducing himself to everybody he could find.

It must be a difficult job to have. I mean, whenever he’s in public, he has to have his game face on. He needs to be smiling all the time, making sure he gives everybody he makes eye contact with just a little bit of time to make them feel good. And he has to be ready for any comment or question that comes his way.

I mean, if he came up to me and said “Hello, I’m Shawn Graham”, and I said “Hi Shawn, I’m Chris. What’s with that tie?”, he’d have to have a response for that. He couldn’t get angry like any normal person would. He has to worry about perception…and my vote.

Anyway, I didn’t ask him about his tie, I just shook his hand and introduced myself. He gave me my 5 seconds and then moved on to the next person. Overall, he seemed like a nice enough guy. Let’s just hope he does a good job running the province.
