Moosehead anyone?
We’ve been seeing an awful lot of wildlife on the way to work in the past month. I’d say we’ve seen about 6 Moose and at least a dozen deer on HWY 7. Usually it’s no big deal, but about 3 weeks ago Erin was driving, and we were just past the Petersville hill on the way to work when she screamed “Oh my God!”. It was still dark because it was just after 7am, so when I looked over I didn’t get a good look, but what I did see through the driver’s side window was a Moose head (not the beer) about a foot away.
Yesterday we saw two moose together off to the side of the road on our way to work, and another two again when we were on our way home. It’s getting pretty dangerous to be commuting, I think. It’s going to get even worse as winter comes because the days will be shorter, and we’ll have fewer hours of daylight.
The strangest thing we’ve seen so far though has to be the white deer we saw yesterday just outside of Fredericton. I mean it was completely white with a few black spots. It was with 4 other normal looking dear. WTF?? I wish I’d had a camera with me.
