I’ve been hearing quite a bit about this plug-in for iTunes lately. It’s called iLike, and it’s a social music site. It analyzes your music collection and recommends similar tunes to the one you’re currently listening to.

This isn’t too big a deal by itself, but beside each of these song suggestions, there’s play button. When pressed, it pauses iTunes and plays 30 seconds of the recommendation. From there you can download it from the iTunes music store if you like it. Some of the recommended songs are free from GarageBand.com, which is a site for indie artists.

On your iLike profile page, you’ll also get recommendations based on the music you have in your iTunes library. It also accumulates stats on what you listen to most. From there you can see people who have similar taste, and what they’re listening to.
