Blackberry 8703e
I finally replaced my RAZR after my mishap a couple of weeks ago, although I decided to do a bit of an upgrade.
I still had 2 years left on my contract with Telus, so they wouldn’t let me do a hardware upgrade. That meant I was going to need to spend $300 + tax to replace the phone. Not going to happen.
The only way they’d let me out of the contract is if I signed a new one with a data device, so I chose the Blackberry 8703e. It was the best one they had, and I have to say I’ve been pretty impressed with it so far.
My bluetooth headset works great with the 8703e, but apparently, that’s all the bluetooth feature is good for. I wasn’t able to sync it with my Mac at all. Not even the address book.
There are a couple of software packages out there for the Mac that will let you sync your address book, calendar, tasks, notes, etc. The best one was Missing Sync for Blackberry. I think it’s still in beta though, because I can’t find a price anywhere on their site. I imagine it’ll be about $50 when it does get released though.
Overall, I like the Blackberry, and I’ll probably purchase Missing Sync when it becomes available.
