Well, I finally converted to Apple. A couple of weeks ago, I started having trouble with my PC. Power problems, I suspect. So, I started hunting around for a new computer. I’ve been eyeing the Intel Macs for a long time now, especially since Bootcamp and Parallels have been getting so much media attention.
Anyway, the one I bought is the 20″ iMac with 256MB ATI Radeon X1600, 1GB of RAM (for now), and a 250GB hard drive. It cost a fortune, but it’ll be worth it I’m sure.
I’m going to use my existing PC as a file server, so I stripped out everything I didn’t need from the PC to get it running stable again, put in a Gigabit ethernet card (the Mac has one built in), and wired it into the closet in the next room (finally some quite in my office!).
I ordered a mini DVI to VGA adapter from Apple at the same time, so I’m going to use the 17″ LCD that I’m using now as a secondary display (the more real estate the better).
Anyway, I’ll post more when it arrives.
