My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and my in-laws got me a gift certificate for Canadian Tire (a great gift for any guy). Ever since then I’ve been trying to figure out what to buy. Well, I finally made my purchase. I got myself a hammock, and it’s the greatest thing ever!
I’m lying in it right now while I write this entry. It’s strung between two posts on the lower level of my front deck. What a great night it is to be out here in a hammock.
I’ve always kind of wanted a hammock, and I would have gotten one years ago if I’d realized just how comfortable they actually were.
Anyway, thanks Mom & Dad!

Home Again! I feel a whole lot better being out of the hospital this time around. I think it’s because I’m not taking morphine for pain any more. Last time, the pain killers kept me pretty groggy, and that made the days drag by slowly.
And the pain is gone! Every last ache and pain that I’ve had for the last 8 months are finally gone. I can’t even begin to describe how that feels. The only problems I’m having now are a lack of energy, and some nausea. And my doctor says the nausea will subside quite a bit by Wednesday.
Now, I only have 2 more cycles to go through. Hopefully I come out of those feeling the same as I do now. It’ll be just in time for the baby!

So I go to the hospital last night to start my second round of chemotherapy. They make me come in the night before so they can hook me up to an IV and start hydrating me with saline. They don’t actually start the chemotherapy until the next day (ie. today).
I was all prepared to start today, but at about 9am, a doctor comes in and tells me that they couldn’t start today because something in my blood was low (hemoglobin, I think). This is a piss-off because I had to drive down from Fredericton for this therapy.
Anyway, I have to go back in late tonight so that they can start the rehydration process all over again. Hopefully everything will be alright to start tomorrow morning. In any case, I have to stay in the hospital another night because of this.
